About and Contact

I started this blog in 2017 while I was a sophomore at Harvard. After graduating with a B.A. in neuroscience in 2020, I started a PhD in Psychiatry at Oxford. When I’m not in England or traveling elsewhere, I’m either in New York City or in Newport Beach, California, where I grew up.

This is a blog about the science and philosophy of consciousness, as well as the spiritual and mystical traditions that have explored altered states of consciousness over the course of human history. I hope to devote the rest of my life to the trans-disciplinary study of consciousness; no other field of research is more important for elevating human and animal welfare. The study of consciousness will also vastly enrich human experience and deepen our understanding of our place in the universe. If this is your first time reading my blog, I recommend you start with this article, which was also featured onĀ Scientific American.
